One of the most popular questions when it comes to waist training is “How long before I start seeing results?”
If I had a dime for every time I have heard a woman ask this question, I would be a millionaire (or really close to it) by now.
If you have that same question right now, you may not like the answer I have for you: “I don’t know.”
Truthfully, no one can tell you how long exactly it will take you to get to your desired waist size. There are several factors that will influence the results you will have that can give you a better idea of what you can expect and to maximize your efforts to help encourage you to keep up with the waist training.
For some women they can see results and a slimmer waist in as little as a week while some other women it may take months for them to really notice a difference.
Here are some factors that will influence when you may start seeing results from your waist training.
Proper Fit of Your Corset
If you have an ill-fitting corset or one that could fit your body a lot better you may not see the results of your waist training in the beginning. A properly fitted corset should lie flat against your body while supporting your ribcage.
You shouldn’t have a muffin top or any lower stomach popping out below the corset. If you do, then it is too tight and doesn’t fit the shape of your body properly. The corset should be designed for waist training so that it properly pulls your waist in while gradually puts pressure on your lower ribcage. There should be nothing spilling out in the waist area of the corset.
Not only can a properly fitted corset help you see results quicker but it is also a lot more comfortable to wear.
The Amount of Body Fat You Have
The thing to keep in mind is that when you wear your corset you may be able to cinch in your waist quite a bit but then it goes reight back to where it was once you take it off. The amount of body fat you have in your stomach will determine just how much you can cinch in and just how much it will bounce right back after taking off the corset.
The more body fat you have in your stomach area the more you may be able to pull your waist in while wearing the corset. But this also means that it may take more time to see results when you take off the corset because you have more body fat that is being dispersed.
On the other hand if you have a lower body fat percentage you may find that you can only cinch in your waist a few inches with your corset, but you may see results quicker when not wearing the shaper.
Where you carry your weight also plays a big part in when you will see results. If you tend to carry more fat in your waist it may take longer to get that defined waist from waist training. If you tend to carry more of your weight in your hips or lower body it may be easier for you to pull in your waist and get more of the hourglass figure.
The Corset or Shaper You Are Using
Not only does the proper fitting of your corset matter, but also the type you are using as well. You want to buy a high quality, strong and structured shaper if you want to see the best results. Check out the recommendations for the best waist trainers if you haven’t bought your corset or shaper yet.
It is definitely worth investing a little more money for a quality corset that you will be able to wear more than a few months rather than going the extra cheap route and buying whatever shaper you find at a local department store. They are not all made the same and buying cheaply made corset that is not properly structured for waist training will set back your results quite significantly.
Your Consistency When It Comes to Wearing the Corset
It is definitely recommended that you start wearing your corset for short periods of time in the beginning, but you should work your way up to wearing it for longer periods if you want to achieve your desired goal body.
Your consistency in wearing the corset will have a huge impact on whether you see results or not. If you just wear the corset every few days and then take a few days off or forget about it for a week you are not going to see the results. You need to consistently wear the corset for it to train your body and cinch in your waist semi-permanently.
There are some women who will wear the corset for 8-9 hours while they work or some even wear it for the 8 hours they are sleeping. The 8 hours is a good goal to try to achieve but if your corset is comfortable and you are not taking the tightness to an extreme you could realistically wear the corset for 12 hours a day. BUt this also means not skipping 3 or 4 days but wearing it everyday for those hours.
Women who consistently wear the waist trainer will see results faster.
Your Diet and Exercise Routine
A healthy diet as well as a regular exercise routine will only help waist training be more successful. When it comes to diet, look at what you are eating especially if you tend to get bloated or retain too much water to notice a difference in your waist.
Adding in some core strengthening exercises as well as general cardio activity can help make your waist appear slimmer and will only aid in the waist training process. Even if you don’t want to lose weight from all over your body, exercise is still important for your overall health and toning of your midsection.
These are just some of the different factors that come into play in determining how long it will take you to see success with waist training.
Remember that each woman’s body is different and just because your friend achieved her goal in 3 months it doesn’t mean that you are doing something wrong if you don’t reach your goal in 3 months time. Stick with your waist training program and take the tips above into account and you will see the success.
